One Of A Kind Local Find

I identify with those who want to live in homes which are a true one-of-a-kind.  An environment like no other, a home visitors remember.  My partner and I had such a home in South Florida and, well, it changes you.

 

I toured such a Winter Park home this past week and knew I had to share it, introduce it to others.  And, YES, I'd LUV to help someone purchase it . . . . mostly because I want to hang out there, drink wine.  🙂

You have arrived!

 

Located a short walking distance to Park Avenue, this home likely checks boxes most of us didn't even know we had.  How so?  Well, the property is LARGE, close to a full acre.  The outdoor areas morph from sunny pool area to quiet park-like corner to meandering brick walkway beneath mature trees and quite a few Brazilian tree ferns.  There are over 5,400 square feet under air and over 7,700 total.  The property is completely walled, gated & fenced, the ability to close up and lets the kids / pets run wild!

The listing agent, Joan Cross, also with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Realty, and I have agreed we might rarely leave the covered front porch.  Presently set up with a large dining table and adjacent seating area, sunny days or raining ones, the space invites the old-fashioned idea of lying about reading a book.  Or, okay, to update it, for streaming a movie on Netflix.  The space provides a gracious, one-of-a-kind entry . . . . your guests may not wish to leave.

 

Built in the late 1800s, the home is historic, but not presently on the Historic Homes Registry.  It originally faced the street behind, as a result has substantial covered porches on each side of the home.  The pitched rooflines feature distinctive Victorian architectural details, especially striking at the entry, as an addition from the 1970s towers above to the mature tree canopy.

The kitchen is large and spacious, sits just behind that expansive entry porch, but also has a formal dining room on the opposite side, just off the porch to the other side of the home.  There is a strong circular flow to the downstairs living area, making the spaces great for entertaining.  Upstairs, the master bedroom is large, but the master bath & closet is set up to make dressing a Hollywood-like experience.  You must see to understand, gaze at the large crystal chandelier hanging above the seating area which sits just inside the highest point of that front facade.

 

Out back, well, this is Florida and despite my earlier comments, this may well be the spot where everyone congregates.  Complete with a covered outdoor grill, brick fireplace and several spacious seating areas, this is an entertainers space extraordinaire!  Private, expansive, resort-like.  As many other spaces as you may visit in our area, it is a true standout, a space which inspires finding more friends so you can have guests more often.  Yeah, like that.

 

One-of-a-kind homes exist.  One-of-a-kind home LUVers are always in search of them because a property which is more predictable will never satisfy.
